Ishikawa Kon and Godzilla. The first autobiography by director Masaaki Tezuka, who shares the behind-the-scenes stories of numerous blockbuster films.
Masaaki Tezuka, who learned filmmaking under the master Ishikawa Kon, directed three Godzilla films: "Godzilla x Megaguirus: G Annihilation Strategy," "Godzilla x Mechagodzilla," and "Godzilla x Mothra x Mechagodzilla: Tokyo SOS." This autobiography has been released.
Entering the industry through a film starring Momoe Yamaguchi, Tezuka participated as a fourth assistant director in Ishikawa's crew starting from "The Ancient Capital."
Having supported director Ishikawa Kon on over 15 projects, Tezuka learned the essence of filmmaking. He made his directorial debut in 2000 with "Godzilla x Megaguirus," and became known as a major director with films like the three Godzilla movies and "Sengoku Jietai 1549." However, in 2006, when Ishikawa Kon directed "The Inugami Family," Tezuka supported him as an assistant director.
This book is filled with tension-filled episodes from Ishikawa's crew and extensive behind-the-scenes stories about the making of the Godzilla films. It includes valuable photographs and storyboards, making it a must-read for both Ishikawa Kon and Godzilla fans.
